2020 Mazda MX-5 RF Will Come With Hard Roof And Manual Option

With more than a million units produced, a cult following and a Guinness World Record for being the best-selling two-seater sports car, it is no surprise that Mazda is dedicated to maintaining the purity of the MX-5, its iconic roadster. For over 30 years, this front mid-engine, rear-wheel drive layout has evolved to fit the ever-changing consumer needs. But Mazda is confident that the 2020 MX-5 RF which offers more amenities while maintaining the necessary characteristics of a driver’s car: lightweight, nimble and fun-to-drive, will be up to the task.

Available in Malaysia soon, the Mazda MX-5 RF is a CBU import from Japan and comes standard with a Skyactiv-G 2.0-liter engine, producing 181 horsepower at 7,000 rpm and 205 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm. Transmission options include either a Skyactiv-MT six-speed manual transmission or Skyactive-Drive six-speed automatic with paddle shifters, giving buyers more options. The MX-5’s engine, paired with its lightweight physique and agile driving dynamics, provides an outstanding power-to-weight ratio that summons pure joy on just about any road. Mazda maintains its commitment to captivating driving dynamics while providing the next generation of premium amenities and striking design.

This beautifully engineered roadster is equipped with several new conveniences inside such as Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto® accessible via the MAZDA CONNECT Infotainment display, and ISOFIX mounts on the passenger side with airbag cut-off function, amongst other standard essential features. 

Aligned with the premium positioning path of brand, the 2020 Mazda MX-5 RF receives an updated Mazda badging and fonts design. For 2020, the MX-5 RF adds more i-Activsense safety features that includes Blind Spot Monitoring with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, Smart City Brake Support and Driver Attention Alert as standard.

The selling price for the new 2020 Mazda MX-5 RF starts from RM266,154 and is officially available for ordering at any authorised Mazda showroom. 

WARRANTY 

All new Mazda vehicles registered from January 1, 2019 onwards will have 5-Years Manufacturer Warranty + 5-Years Free Maintenance (except Mazda BT-50) according to manufacturer’s standards inclusive of labour, parts and lubricants. Both Manufacturer Warranty and Free Maintenance have a coverage period of five years and a mileage limit of 100,000km, whichever comes first.
