Honda Malaysia has added a new classy dark brown leather interior colour to the HR-V RS. The new dark brown leather interior is exclusively introduced to the Malaysian market as an additional choice for buyers who opt for something different to the current black leather interior. The new interior colour is fitted into the centre console, front panel, driver and passenger seats (front and rear), as well as the door panel lining.
HR-V Popularity Continues
Launched in 2015, there are more than 91,000 units of HR-V on Malaysian roads (as of May 2020). This compact SUV remains popular with Malaysians and continues to hold its No. 1 position in the Non-National Compact SUV segment with 85% market share as of April 2020.
The model received a refresh in January 2019, and as of May 2020, Honda Malaysia has sold more than 19,000 units of the facelifted HR-V. The RS variant contributed 21% to the total facelifted HR-V sales.
Honda Malaysia Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Mr. Toichi Ishiyama said, “The HR-V RS received overwhelming response from the market since we introduced it in early 2019. Then, based on customers’ feedback for an enhanced touch of sophistication, we introduced the stylish black leather interior for the HR-V RS. Today, we are delighted to provide yet another selection of interior styling to suit the differing personalities of our discerning customers – the new classy dark brown leather interior. We are committed to continuously improve our product offerings as we listen to customers’ feedback and market demand.”
Setting the Benchmark
The HR-V sets the benchmark in the Compact SUV segment with its popular and practical Multi-Utility Cargo Space that offers excellent cabin and trunk space for various usage. Standard safety features in the HR-V include Six Airbags, Emergency Stop Signal (ESS), Automatic Brake Hold (ABH), Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA), Hill Start Assist (HSA) and Rear Seat ISOFIX.
The HR-V RS is powered by a 1.8-litre SOHC i-VTEC engine combined with Honda’s Earth Dreams Technology Continuous Variable Transmission (CVT) to deliver a balance of performance and fuel efficiency. Honda Malaysia is Ready
Mr. Ishiyama also added, “In recent months, Malaysia has gone through an unprecedented and challenging period. All our frontliners are still working hard to fight COVID-19 pandemic and we are thankful for their sacrifices in the past months – even more so during the festive season of Hari Raya. Following the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO), we have monitored the situation closely a Honda dealerships and we are pleased to observe that the public are adhering to the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) and social distancing measures that were implemented at our dealerships. It is also very encouraging to see the positive spirit from all Malaysians in working together for a better Malaysia.
