On 4th July 2020, Perodua official distributor in Brunei, GHK Motors, launched the third generation Perodua Myvi. The online launch, held in Bandar Seri Begawan, introduced 3 variants of the Myvi. However, 1 of the variants looked new and unfamiliar. It was called the Myvi S-Edition, and it looks almost like the Myvi GT concept that Perodua displayed at the KL International Motor Show 2018.
However, according to Perodua, this is not an authorised version of the Myvi. The Myvi S-Edition is an independent variant introduced by Perodua Brunei based on the Myvi 1.3L G variant. The enhanced body kits were sourced independently by its appointed distributor GHK Motors. The G variant is a standard mid-spec Myvi and does not have Perodua’s Advanced Safety Assist (ASA).
“We are engaging with GHK Motors for more details about this variant to ensure that the additions to this variant meet the required standards,”. said Perodua President and Chief Executive Officer, Dato’ Zainal Abidin Ahmad.
Based on the feedback from GHK Motors, the introduction of the Myvi S-Edition was its attempt to introduce a variant that was better suited to their market needs.
“We understand that the introduction of the Myvi S-Edition has created some confusion with our loyal customers and we hope that this statement has given some clarification to this matter,” added Dato’ Zainal.
