Ride Around In Premium Style With The Limited Edition Jaguar F-PACE

Another premium marque has just introduced a limited edition model to Malaysia. The Jaguar F-PACE,  its best-selling performance SUV, is now available with a new state-of-the-art 2.0-litre, turbocharged 300PS Ingenium petrol engine. This is by far, Jaguar’s most powerful 2.0-litre petrol engine in production. It incorporates advanced technology with an all-aluminium construction to provide a balance of impressive power and strong fuel economy. And only 20 units are made available for sale.

Power to Impress

The Ingenium engine with twin-scroll turbocharger produces 300PS at 5,500rpm and 400Nm of torque between 1,500 – 4,500rpm. This amount of power goes through its all-wheel-drive system and allows the F-PACE to have a 0 – 100km/h acceleration time of 6.1 seconds, and a top speed of 233km/h (recorded with model on 22-inch wheels).

The engine’s turbocharger is fed by an integrated exhaust manifold that synchronises exhaust pulses from two separate pairs of cylinders to significantly reduce turbo lag and improve response. The transmission fitted is a ZF 8HP45 eight-speed automatic unit that promises seamless gearshifts and smooth acceleration.

One noteworthy feature of the powertrain is the state-of-the-art pendulum damper in the torque converter which effectively absorbs low frequency vibrations. This enables the engine to run at lower speeds without compromising refinement.

Three Variants Available

There are 3 variants of the F-PACE on sale – the base Prestige variant, R-Sport Mid-Spec and R-Sport Hi-Spec. Features available include the Gesture tailgate, 10-inch Touch Pro, Pro Services and WiFi Hotspot, Lane Keep Assist and Driver Condition Monitor. In addition, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity are standard.

Further, the Prestige variant offers enhanced exterior and convenient features like a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System, 20-inch 5 split-spoke ‘Style 5031’ with Grey Diamond Turned finish alloy wheels, as well as Rear Seat Remote Release Levers and Power Reclining Rear Seats.

Additional features available in the R-Sport Mid-Spec include Adaptive LED Headlamps and Signature Daytime Running Lights (DRL), Auto High Beam Assist (AHBA), Ambient Interior Lighting and Gloss Black Roof Rails.

Exclusively for the range-topping R-Sport Hi-Spec is the Adaptive Surface Response (AdsR) which recognises differences between surfaces to exploit available grip by adjusting engine and brake settings. The AdSR operates throughout the vehicle’s speed range and enables finer optimisation of the vehicle’s systems to make the most of available traction. This helps the driver make smooth progress even in the most challenging road conditions. The R-Sport Hi-Spec also comes with larger 22-inch wheels.

Proprietary Technology

This performance SUV is also Jaguar’s first aluminium-intensive model in its class, developed using Jaguar’s Lightweight Aluminium Architecture.

Besides that, the F-PACE is built with Jaguar’s proprietary technologies – Configurable and Adaptive Dynamics. The Configurable Dynamics is standard on the R-Sport (Mid-Spec and Hi-Spec variants) and allows drivers to choose Normal or Sports settings for throttle response, gearbox and steering. On the other hand, Adaptive Dynamics is only available in the R-Sport Hi-Spec, and modifies the damper response to match the different conditions and driving style. It analyses acceleration, cornering, throttle and brake pedal activity to optimise the suspension settings and maintain the car’s dynamism and comfort.

The limited edition Jaguar F-PACE models are priced at Prestige: RM436,420.82, R-Sport Mid-Spec: RM470,212.97 and R-Sport Hi-Spec: RM485,433.81 respectively.
