New 306PS AWD Hot Hatch BMW M135i X Drive Arrives; |YS Khong Driving

BMW moves into the hot hatch business with its sensational M135i xDrive.

Breaking its own tradition of just concentrating on RWD for its performance models, BMW developed this FWD- based hatch to go head to head with its competitors, VW and Mercedes-Benz. The main target seems to be Mercedes-Benz, though as the 306PS engine power happens to be exactly the same as the A35.

Mercedes-Benz in recent years has been cutting itself an additional slice of the market by moving into FWD and AWD hatches that target a younger and different from the traditional RWD, and this time it appears BMW wants a share of it too.

The M135i looks very good on paper, but we will wait for th proof of the pudding – hahaha, you know what I mean?
