Saying Goodbye to My Faithful Little Avanza After 15 Years: a journey of 8 times around the world

Many of my friends and colleagues have had wonderful memories made with this valiant Avanza, which has served is well and has taken is over a distance equivalent to more than 8 times around the world, measured around the Equator.

At one time this was reputed to be the fastest Avanza in the world. I remember one particular trip where we started from Petaling Jaya, went down south all the way to Johor Bahru, and back north again to Penang, all in the same day. We refueled three times that day, and the journey covered 1100 km. This little Avanza took it all in it’s stride, notwithstanding the fact that I was pulling way over 5,500 rpm consistently throughout the day.
