Here you go, folks – our first drive up the mountain in the Nissan Almera 1.0 Turbo.
Bear in mind the engine has been downsized to a 1.0 litre from the previous 1.5 litre, and the tall gearing is maintained for fuel efficiency. However, the CVT has a new feature, i.e. simulated ratios that give it a semblance of a conventional automatic, so the rubber band effect is reduced.
Notwithstanding that the car is actually a family sedan made for day to day motoring with excellent fuel efficiency, we, being typical Malaysian, naturally want to know if it can still climb the mountain.
