Jetour will complement its Malaysian debut in 2025 by appealing to people who love the outdoors with two adventure-ready SUVs.
These two rugged models the Jetour T1 and T2 come with the latest features aimed at redefining off-road exploration. Designed for individuals seeking adventurous outdoor experiences, the T1 and T2 combine powerful off-road capabilities with clever technology, large cabins, and refined comfort, setting Jetour as a new type of SUV brand in Malaysia.
According to the Jetour Global Travel+ Conference 2024, the Jetour T2 will debut in Malaysia in 2025, ahead of the Jetour T1’s arrival. The Jetour T2 sets the standard with its outstanding exterior design and good proportions, measuring 4785mm in length, 2006mm in width, and 1880mm in height, with a 2800mm wheelbase. Built to withstand challenging terrains, the T2 has 220mm of ground clearance and an impressive 28-degree approach angle and a 30-degree departure angle with an 18-degree ramp angle—making it an excellent choice for dedicated off-road enthusiasts even in unmodified form.
Equipped with three powertrain options, the T2 caters to various driving preferences:
- 1.5TD-7DCT FWD (135kW, 290Nm)
- 2.0TD-7DCT AWD (187kW, 390Nm)
- 2.0TD-8AT AWD (187kW, 390Nm)
AWD variants are powered by BorgWarner’s 6th-generation X-WD system, which features two differential locks (central and rear) and intelligent torque control. This advanced setup ensures smooth transitions between 2WD and 4WD modes, increasing traction and stability on various terrains. Additionally, the T2 includes “X Mode,” a driving mode for off-road conditions, as well as six other modes, adapting the SUV to any driving terrain from sand to rocks.
Inside, the T2 doesn’t compromise on luxury. A spacious cabin with double-layered soundproof glass and soft-touch materials offers a quiet, comfortable retreat after a day of adventure. With eco-friendly materials, dual-zone climate control, a premium Sony audio system, and a 15.6-inch digital cockpit powered by a Snapdragon chip, the T2 provides a health-conscious interior that enhances the driving experience. The T2 prioritizes safety and structural integrity, with a torsional body stiffness of 32,000 Nm/deg and a body construction made of more than 80% high-strength steel.
Jetour intends to develop a PHEV version of the T2 for environmentally conscious drivers, with ultra-low fuel consumption of 5.4L/100km, a big 26.7kWh battery with a WLTC range of 100km, and Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capacity at 6.6kW, giving convenience and versatility for off-grid travel.
If you prefer something less aggressive, then the Jetour T1 might suits you. With the similar drivetrain, the Jetour T1 is more compact yet equally capable, measuring 4705mm in length, 1967mm in width, and 1843mm in height, with a 2800mm wheelbase and a 190mm ground clearance. Its design embodies both city and off-road adventures, with features like the “Eye of the Storm” headlight design, rugged bumpers, and a roof rack capable of carrying 150kg dynamic load. The T1 balances aesthetics and function, making it ideal for anyone seeking a versatile SUV capable of handling both urban and off-road adventures.
Powering the T1 are two engine options:
- 1.5TD-7DCT FWD (125kW, 270Nm)
- 2.0TD-8AT AWD (180kW, 375Nm)
The T1 also has the X-WD intelligent 4WD system, which enhances off-road capabilities by 50% and improves handling by 40% over typical AWD systems. With seven standard driving modes (standard, economic, sport, snow, mud, rock, and sand), and an extra customizable mode, the T1 easily adapts to variety of terrains, providing a beginner-friendly experience for first-time off-road drivers.
Inside the T1, Jetour prioritizes comfort and innovation. The cabin is fitted with ultra-comfortable, ergonomically built “cloud feeling” seats that offer great lumbar support and include three degrees of heating and ventilation. The cabin also uses high-quality, skin-friendly materials and soundproofing to provide a peaceful environment, with noise levels reduced by 7dB, thanks to double-layered glass and 79 soundproofing materials.
The T1 also includes Jetour’s latest TOUR OS 2.0, powered by the Snapdragon 8155 chip, which provides an intuitive, seamless experience via a 10.25-inch LCD instrument panel and a big 15.6-inch touchscreen display. This digital cockpit is enhanced by a unique square steering wheel, aircraft-inspired shifter, and the “outdoor camouflage” seat material, making it both functional and stylish for the adventure driver.
Jetour offers a unique viewpoint on Malaysia’s SUV market by combining automotive technology with a passion for travel and off-road adventure. With the T1 and T2, Jetour is creating a new standard for rugged, versatile SUVs that offer luxury, comfort, and advanced technology without compromising off-road capability.
