According to Hyundai Sime-Darby Motors (HSDM), it is planning to launch the Hyundai Kona in Malaysia in Q4 2020. As such, it is inviting those who wish to get their hands on this Compact SUV to place their bookings at any authorised Hyundai showroom.
Its name comes from the Kona district on the Big Island of Hawaii; Hyundai SUVs are named after places in the USA. The Kona continues with Hyundai’s new design identity, with an expressive and powerful front dominated by the cascading grille, the brand’s signature look. The Hyundai Kona also wears “urban smart armor” exterior styling featuring a voluminous, aggressive body complemented by a low and wide stance for looks, and confident handling in a variety of urban and adventure-oriented driving environments.
Feature Highlights
Some of its features to highlight include a separated type composite light arrangement with the LED Daytime Running Lights positioned on top of the LED headlights. Another feature is the head-up display with active pop-up screen, which projects key driving information directly in the driver’s line of sight. And as is characteristic of SUVs, the elevated seating position provides better visibility for drivers.
Other notable highlights include:
- Bold, fresh design elements with colour-contrasting roof and extroverted colour options
- LED headlight, taillight and daytime running light illumination signature
- A burst of striking colour in the interior with contrast stitching on the steering wheel and seats, coupled with colourful seatbelts
- 7-inch infotainment floating touchscreen with Apple CarPlay™/Android Auto™ capability
- Hyundai Smart Sense
- Wireless device charging
