The Ora Good Cat – The New Cat in town. How cool will it be? [Pre-Launch Preview] YS Khong Driving
Hey guys and girls! – The Ora Good Cat EV or the Hao Mao as it is known in China, is finally here and ready to be launched. An affordable EV is finally coming our way. We were invited to try out the top-of-the-range high level trim Ora Good Cat Ultra which will be launched in the month of November.
The Ora Good Cat is built on the Great Wall Motors L.E.M.O.N platform which is their intelligent modular platform of the future.
Meant to be a city cat, it has a top speed of 152km/h and comes with 5 driving modes for you to choose from. The Ora Cat comes with 143PS and 210 Nm of torque from the electric motor driving the two front wheels. It offers a claimed range of 500 km, thanks to the 63.1 kWh ternary lithium battery.
It takes about 1hr to fully charge with a DC charger while 0-80% can be done in 40 minutes. An AC charger will take 10hrs.
Armed with it cute looks, this little B – Segment Hatchback is for sure going to turn a few heads as it darts around the city. The wheels are 18 – inch Allloy with 215/50/18 tires.
In terms of safety, this variant gets a range of active safety and driver assist systems, like adaptive cruise control with intelligent turning, automatic emergency braking with intersection support, traffic jam assist, front collision warning, lane departure warning, a wisdom dodge system, lane centre keeping and lane keeping assist.
