From 15 May to 11 June 2020, Caltex is partnering with Grab Malaysia to deliver food packs to the frontliners working during the Conditional Movement Control Order. Grab will help to send out Caltex’s contribution of 2,800 meals to health workers serving at clinics, as well as to police officers and army personnel manning roadblocks.
Under this program, Caltex and Grab will work with Alibaba and Nyonya Cafe, a home-grown restaurant serving authentic Malay-Nyonya cuisine with a contemporary twist, to supply the food packs in their bid to support local businesses throughout this challenging period. Grab will collect the food prepared by Alibaba and Nyonya Cafe and deliver to the frontliners at various clinics and roadblocks.
Standing by the Frontliners
“As a company that values safety and security, Chevron understands and recognises the tremendous concerted effort, time and dedication of our health workers and law enforcement personnel. We appreciate the commitment of these frontliners during our time of need by maintaining Malaysia’s safety and security, and we would like to acknowledge their contribution to society. It is fitting that this initiative is taking place on the cusp of Hari Raya Aidilfitri as it is a time for togetherness and unity. We hope these donations will show our brave frontliners that we’re standing by them during this challenging time,” said Jay Gomez, Country Chairman of Chevron Malaysia Limited, the company which owns the Caltex brand.
Gomez added, “I would like to commend Grab Malaysia for their accommodation and professionalism throughout this period. Grab shared Caltex’s desire to give back to frontliners which made partnering with them the right decision, and we are glad to be activating this initiative with them.”
“We are proud to collaborate with Caltex to ensure that the nation’s frontliners are not forgotten during these difficult times by making sure that they never miss a meal. While many of us are staying safe at home, our country’s dedicated frontliners are working incredibly hard to protect the health and safety of all Malaysians. We’re thrilled for the opportunity to play a part in supporting these local heroes and our hearts and appreciation go out to them for their selfless efforts. Grab remains committed to providing the community with convenient access to daily necessities and support through our delivery network. By working together and with continuous support across industries, we are confident that Malaysia will get through this,” said Rashid Shukor, Head of Operations at Grab Malaysia.
